Though I would have liked to divulged it myself, I guess fate was sorely tempted, especially after I reneged on my earlier "deadline" to divulge it last month.

It's never nice to hear about someone from a third party, especially if you're very close to that someone, and should've probably heard it from themselves, and I'm definitely the guilty party this time.
