Made a very quick visit to Chennai for a day to attend Microsoft's TechVista 2008, presenting a poster on my work. There was an obscene amount of money at stake, and the moolah would have satiated some of my gadget lust, so I went. Unfortunately I did not win. Nevertheless it was a very comfortable visit, but also probably the most sterile.
I never had a chance (or time) to see Chennai, nor encounter its hot and humid weather. If the "travelling" that is announced in some jobs is just like what I experienced, I doubt I would be travelling at all.
P.S.: My envy for the ability of people working in Graphics who connect almost instantaneously with their (non-techie) audience is reinforced.
